Is this suitable for at-home use?

Yes - when you choose the correct strength and follow the instructions. For big lightening goals, we recommend experienced users or professional application.

Do I need Mattie developer, or can I use another brand?

For best tone accuracy and predictable processing, use Mattie Nature Peroxide Cream. It’s designed to match Mattie Nature Permanent Colour Cream and Mattie Bleaching Powder.

Will a higher volume make my colour last longer?

No. Higher volume increases lift — not longevity. Using a volume that’s too strong can cause dryness and reduce colour quality.

Can I use this on previously coloured hair?

Yes, but results depend on what’s already in the hair. For coloured or porous lengths, lower strengths are usually safer. Always strand test when changing levels.

Does developer damage hair?

Developer itself isn’t damaging when used correctly. Damage usually happens when the strength is too high, processing time is too long, or product overlaps onto already coloured hair. Choosing the lowest effective volume and following instructions is key.

How often can I colour my hair?

Most people retouch roots every 4–6 weeks. Avoid overlapping strong developer on previously coloured lengths unless necessary.

Can I use 12% (40 VOL) at home?

Only for very experienced users working on natural, untreated hair. Not recommended for beginners, pre-coloured hair, or bleaching lengths at home.
